    2020 Hero Glamour BS6 Review

Before the pandemic came into being early this year, Hero MotoCorp had pulled the wraps off some its new products and prototypes at the Hero World 2020 event. It included the Passion Pro, Xtreme 160R and the Glamour 125. The new Glamour 125 is all-new from ground-up, and it also gets a new gearbox in the form of a 5-speed unit. With rivals like the Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Honda SP 125, the Glamour will have to deliver.

    The design

The new Glamour looks identical to the bike it replaces, but there are some all-important alterations done to the body panels. The dual-tone colour theme remains and also gets chequered flag graphics. The headlight too, has been restructured and the tail sports a ‘H’ pattern. The bike looks more muscular. The part-digital instrument looks similar to the old one but gets a few minor changes. The real-time fuel efficiency is displayed on the console as well.

    The engine

The Glamour is powered by a 124.7cc, single-cylinder engine that is fuel-injected and is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The Hero Glamour features the i3S start-stop system and ‘Auto Sail’. Pull in the clutch when in neutral and start the engine; that’s how the start-stop system works. With the Auto Sail system, the bike creeps forward at a steady speed. At highway speeds, the bike never feels like it’s running out of breath. The engine is quite refined, and the exhaust note sounds good. In the city, the bike delivers a mileage of 62.56kpl.

    The ride

The engine is nestled in a new frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shocks. On the road, the rear of the bike felt a bit firm, but it isn’t all that uncomfortable. We’re pretty sure this bike can be used for heavy duty purposes as well. The wide tyre at the rear allows for good stability and ground clearance has improved too. The bike stays planted at high speeds. The bike is equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Around corners, the bike stays glued to the tarmac but doesn’t really like being pushed hard. However, it’s a breeze to ride in traffic.

    The verdict

The Glamour is available in two variants, and undercuts the Pulsar 125 and Honda SP 125 in terms of pricing. The bike packs in quite a good deal, considering the levels of refinement and features being offered. Also, being a Hero, service and spares should never be an issue.  Also, grab the latest info on the upcoming bikes, only at autoX.
